About Rodent Control Chula Vista

Rodent Control Chula Vista has worked homes and trading premises across Chula Vista and the wider South Bay since 2011. We are a local firm and we do one thing: rats, mice and squirrels. Not a general round with rodents added on the end of it — the whole of the week is spent on this, on buildings like yours.

When you call, you are talking to the people who will be on your roof. There is no call centre and nothing is passed to a subcontractor. The person who inspects your property is the person who does the work and the person who comes back for the follow-up, which is the only arrangement under which anybody actually remembers what they found.

Narrowing to a single trade is the whole argument for Rodent Control Chula Vista: the person who arrives has spent the week under houses like yours rather than on insects.

Why the Trade Narrowed

The business did not start out this narrow. It narrowed because the two halves of the work turned out to need different people. Insect work is chemistry and timing. Rodent work is carpentry — a ladder, a crawl suit, a good torch, and enough hours on old roofs to know which of the gaps up there an animal will genuinely use.

Trying to be competent at both meant being properly good at neither, so we picked. The upside for you is that somebody who has spent this week under Chula Vista houses arrives already knowing where a 1950s raised foundation gives way and where a 2004 slab does, which is most of what a survey is.

What Chula Vista Actually Throws At Us

There is no winter here that kills anything back, so the population outside a building never resets. Roof rats travel block walls and palm crowns and arrive at roof height without ever crossing open ground. Norway rats stay low and favour the older drainage west of the freeway. House mice come in at the base of a wall and live inside it.

The canyons and the open space to the east are the other half of it. Protected land is not going to be cleared or treated, which means properties along it are working against a permanent supply. We say so on those jobs rather than selling a promise nobody can keep.

How We Would Rather Work

Inspection first, photographed, and written down before a price is put on anything. You keep that document whether or not you book us — take it to your own carpenter if you would rather, because it is itemised for exactly that reason.

Then the animals out, then the building closed in stainless mesh and flashing, then the soiled insulation cleared. In that order. Closing a building with something still inside it means an animal dying in a wall cavity, and that is a considerably worse job than the one you originally rang about.

What We Will Tell You

That plenty of jobs are one vent and an afternoon, and we will charge accordingly rather than dressing it up as an ongoing plan. That a rotted rafter tail belongs to a carpenter and chewed cable belongs to an electrician. That where the pressure is coming from a neighbour's property, sealing yours still works but the pressure does not go away.

Saying those things costs us work now and again and we have made our peace with that. The alternative is a trade where the person describing the problem is the person billing for it, which is not a position anybody should have to take on trust.

Around Here

Our patch runs from the older streets near the bay out to the hillside blocks, through the master-planned villages, and on into Bonita, National City, Spring Valley, Coronado, Imperial Beach and the rest of San Diego. Ring (619) 745-5097 and tell us what the noise is doing and which room you can hear it in. Two sentences on the phone will usually tell us whether this is an afternoon or a fortnight.
